Topic A Current View and Lessons Learned from Violence in the Workplace and Active Shooter Situations

Speaker Kort Dickson, the Director of Corporate Security for Perdue Farms LLC

Kort is responsible for establishing security strategies, programs and policies to protect the company’s assets, developing and implementing the use of security-related technology, overseeing security operations and managing investigations.

Kort is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in Administration of Justice.  He has 30 years of experience in the security field and before joining Perdue he has held positions in a wide variety of environments including Loss Prevention Investigator and Manager for Madigans, Security Specialist, Supervisor, Regional and Division Manager as well as Corporate Security Director for Premier Farnell, plc in Cleveland, OH and Senior Manager for Kraft Foods in Northfield, IL where he was responsible for supporting Kraft’s North American portfolio.  Kort is a member and active participant in several industry trade associations including;

• ASIS International (former Chairman of the Business Practices Council) was
• Founding member of the Food and Agricultural Council and current CSO Roundtable Member
• ACFE (American Certified Fraud Examiners)
• ATAP (Associate of Threat Assessment Professionals)
• OSAC (Overseas Advisory Council., Dept. of State)
• InfraGard
